Privacy Policy
Shoonkria ("Shoonkria", "we", "us") is a mobile app and website that helps people discover food places on a map, plan meals in cities across Pakistan, and find bank card discounts. Shoonkria is operated by Ali Rehman, Lahore, Pakistan. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using the app or website you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect

We do not ask for payment card numbers, national ID numbers or your contacts. Bank card discount information in the app is general offer information; you do not enter your card details.
2. Location
- Location access is optional. You can use Shoonkria without it by choosing a city or searching manually.
- We use your location to show nearby places, sort results by distance and centre the map. We do not track your location in the background.
- Your precise coordinates are used to fetch nearby results. For analytics we record only coarse information, such as the city or area, and whether "near me" was used, not a trail of your movements.
- You can turn location off at any time in your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services; Android: Settings > Location or App permissions).
3. Accounts
Accounts let you save places and sync your plans across devices. Account and app data are stored with our backend provider, Supabase. You can edit your profile details in the app and you can delete your account at any time (see section 8).
4. Analytics
We use analytics to understand what people search for, which cities and features are used most, and how to improve the app. This includes:
- First-party analytics that we record in our own backend (search terms and cuisines, city, use of "near me", map taps, screen views).
- Google Analytics 4 on our website, which uses cookies or similar identifiers to measure traffic. You can learn more and opt out using Google's opt-out tool.
Analytics data is used in aggregate wherever possible and is not used to make decisions that significantly affect you. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
5. How we use your information
- To provide the app: maps, nearby results, filters, meal planning, saved items and discounts.
- To create and secure your account and prevent abuse or fraud.
- To understand usage and improve features, content and city coverage.
- To respond to your messages and provide support.
- To send service notices, such as changes to these policies. We will not send marketing messages unless you agree to them.
- To comply with legal obligations.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate the app for us, such as Supabase (database, authentication and hosting), map and location services, Google Analytics for the website, and website hosting. They may process data only to provide their services to us.
- Legal and safety recipients where required by law, court order or to protect rights, safety and security.
- A successor if Shoonkria is transferred as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Some providers process data on servers outside Pakistan, so your information may be transferred internationally. We take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected.
7. Retention
We keep account data while your account is active. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form or for a limited period necessary for the purposes above. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must keep certain records for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons.
8. Your choices and rights
- Access, correction and deletion: you can view and update your information in the app. You can delete your account from within the app, or by emailing us from the address on your account. We will act on deletion requests within 30 days.
- Location: withdraw permission at any time in device settings.
- Analytics: ask us to exclude you from analytics, and use the Google opt-out for the website.
- Other rights: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as objecting to or restricting processing, or data portability. Contact us to exercise them.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Shoonkria is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
The app links to third-party places, maps, social media (including Instagram content) and bank offer pages. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read them.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify you in the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
